The Columbia Missourian

Copy Editor // State Government Reporter
When I started reporting at the Missourian in the fall of my junior year, I was still learning how to become a great reporter. As a state government reporter, I sharpened my writing skills and fine-tuned my interviewing tactics. Two years later, I began serving as the copy editor for all web and print content. It's safe to say I grew up in this newsroom.
August - January 2017
Provided monthly content for Vox Magazine, including feature-length stories and service pieces. I loved working with this magazine because of the freedom of voice it provided.
June 2015 - May 2016
When I worked with Uber, I provided boots-on-the-ground help to drivers and riders alike. I also spearheaded the social media campaign #UberIceCream, and I worked with companies and organizations in Columbia in order to secure future partners with Uber.

Missouri Digital News
January - May 2016
I spent early mornings and late nights inside a tiny newsroom in the basement of Missouri's capitol building when I worked for MDN. I interviewed senators, lobbyists and more. I spent hours listening to debates inside the chamber; I faced quick turn-around times and tough deadlines— this is where I learned the fundamentals of reporting.
